TEXITcoin Core

Releases, features, and network rules.

One home for the code running today and the coordinated changes planned next. Every consensus upgrade includes its reasoning, patch, test evidence, and rollout requirements.

Release files are for non-mining nodes only. The official TXC release zips are built with mining switched off (no getblocktemplate, submitblock or createauxblock). Never install them on a mining pool. Pools need a separate mining (auxpow) build from source.

v0.26.1

Bulk payments + smoother difficulty

Both new rules switch on together at block 364,100 (expected around 6 October 2026, 16:30 UTC). Every node must run v0.26.1 before then. Builds for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04.

on deckactivation not scheduled

v0.27.0

Bigger Send To Many + rolling checkpoint

Larger Omni payloads so wallets can pay more than 7 receivers in one send; a rolling checkpoint that refuses any reorg deeper than 2,000 blocks (about 4–5 days), so running nodes stay protected between releases; plus reproducible builds with published hashes. Still in planning; no block chosen.

Privacy — options on the table

A working discussion of what a transparent chain leaks, the wallet and network fixes we can ship cheaply, and an honest assessment of protocol-level privacy — nothing decided yet.

v0.26.1 and next

Features and upgrades

3 workstreams

Why is v0.26 a minor release?

It changes rules every validating node must understand identically. That requires a coordinated upgrade, not a routine fixes-only update.

When does it activate?

Block 364,100 — expected around 6 October 2026, 16:30 UTC. Send To Many and the new difficulty rule both switch on at that block. Nodes still on v0.25.2 will split off the network there.

When is v1.0.0?

After the new rules are proven in production, public nodes agree on one release, and no consensus change remains queued behind it.

v0.26.1

running now5 October 2026

Send To Many + smoother difficulty, live at block 364,100

The first coordinated rules upgrade since v0.25.1. Both new rules switch on at block 364,100 (about 6 October 2026, 16:30 UTC).

  • Send To Many: one Omni token transaction pays many recipients (type 7, feature 19)
  • Smoother difficulty: small adjustment every block from the last 60 blocks (LWMA-1), replacing 40-block jumps
  • New mainnet checkpoint at block 362,494
  • Public downloads for Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, with mining switched off; pools use a separate private build
  • v0.26.0 was never shipped — a checkpoint typo made it unbuildable, fixed in v0.26.1

Who must upgrade — Every node, before block 364,100. Our fleet (node1, node2, node3, node-txc, node-mempool, Pionex) is already upgraded; the pool box upgrades last with its private mining build.

v0.25.2

superseded10 June 2026

Fresh nodes can sync again

The stable release before v0.26.1.

  • Fresh nodes can complete the peer handshake and sync from block zero
  • Node authentication and the root key became optional after block 309,877
  • Existing synced nodes remained compatible

Who must upgrade — Superseded. Nodes still on v0.25.2 split off the network at block 364,100.

v0.25.1

superseded8 June 2026

New reward address, open network

Mining rewards moved to the current pool address and permission certificates stopped being required.

  • New coinbase reward address enforced from block 309,877
  • Every reward output must pay the pool-controlled address
  • X.509 peer authentication became optional after the activation block

Who must upgrade — All miners and node operators upgraded before block 309,877.

v0.25.0

superseded21 May 2026

Coinbase address enforcement

Introduced the consensus rule that mining rewards must go to the agreed pool address.

  • Coinbase address validation
  • Live chain parameters
  • Release version bump

Who must upgrade — Miners and validating nodes.

v0.24.0

superseded26 March 2026

Merged mining identity and deployment

Set the chain identity for merged mining and made the node easier to deploy.

  • Updated AuxPoW chain ID
  • Difficulty changes
  • Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 Docker builds

Who must upgrade — Miners and container operators.

v0.23.0

superseded2 March 2026

The Omni token layer arrives

TEXITcoin gained its token layer, which the next release extends with bulk transfers.

  • OmniLite token layer
  • Reward-address validation
  • Mainnet parameters and build fixes

Who must upgrade — Every node computing token balances.

v0.22.0

superseded17 May 2025

The base chain

The starting point for TEXITcoin before the token layer arrived.

  • Bitcoin Core-derived base
  • Scrypt proof of work
  • AuxPoW merged-mining foundations

Who must upgrade — Historic; no current node should run this release.

Release numbering

Patch: 0.25.1 → 0.25.2
Fixes and polish. Safe to install without a coordinated activation.

Minor: 0.25 → 0.26
Network rules change. Everyone upgrades before an announced activation block.

Major: 0 → 1
The network is considered stable, open, and ready for its long-term contract.

Runtime dependencies

The release zips link against each Ubuntu release’s shared libraries, and a fresh install doesn’t ship all of them. This list is read directly off the shipped v0.26.1 binaries — install it before starting the node, and before you stop the old daemon so downtime is only the file swap.

Ubuntu 22.04

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y \
    libboost-filesystem1.74.0 libboost-thread1.74.0 \
    libevent-2.1-7 libevent-pthreads-2.1-7 libssl3 \
    libzmq5 libfmt8 libsqlite3-0 libdb5.3++ libminiupnpc17

Ubuntu 24.04

sudo apt update && sudo apt install -y \
    libboost-filesystem1.83.0 libboost-thread1.83.0 \
    libevent-2.1-7t64 libevent-pthreads-2.1-7t64 libssl3t64 \
    libzmq5 libfmt9 libsqlite3-0 libdb5.3++ libminiupnpc17

The one most often missed is libdb5.3++ — it provides libdb_cxx-5.3.so, the Berkeley DB wallet library the binaries link against on both Ubuntu versions. Core system libraries (libc6, libstdc++6) come with every install and are not listed. Building from source is a different list: see doc/dependencies.md in the repository.
